Overcoming the Sin of Pride

Pride is often seen as a silent predator, lurking within our hearts and minds. Proverbs 16:18 gives us a stark warning: "Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall." This verse encapsulates the essence of how pride operates. It is a precursor to downfall, a warning sign that something is amiss. The call to submit to God and resist the devil is a powerful one. Pride often makes us resistant to submission; it tells us we can do things on our own without God's help. His wisdom was corrupted by his own desire for self-exaltation.
