Legacy through Leadership

Leadership in the church and community is not just about authority; it's about service and responsibility. In Proverbs 27:17, we find the well-known verse, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." This proverb highlights the mutual benefit of mentorship and friendship. This mutual support helps to create a resilient community where individuals feel valued and empowered.

In 2 Timothy 1:5, Paul writes to Timothy, reminding him of the genuine faith that has been passed down through his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. This verse highlights the powerful impact of a family’s spiritual heritage and the importance of nurturing faith across generations. The legacy of faith is one of the most valuable gifts we can give to our children and those we mentor. It is not just about teaching doctrines or religious practices, but about living a life that exemplifies genuine faith, love, and commitment to God. When we share our experiences, struggles, and victories in faith, we provide a living testimony that can inspire and guide others on their spiritual journey.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises His disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. This power is not just for personal transformation but is also intended to equip them to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. The Holy Spirit is a gift that empowers us to live out our faith boldly and effectively, enabling us to share the Gospel and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
