The Role of Jesus in Creation
The Gospel of John illuminates the integral role of Jesus, the Word, in the tapestry of creation, declaring 'All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made' (John 1:3). This profound truth highlights the divine authority and creative power of Christ, who, existing from the very beginning with God, was instrumental in bringing forth the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). In Colossians 1:16, we find that all realms of existence, visible and invisible, were crafted through Him and for Him. The writer of Hebrews echoes this sentiment, recognizing Jesus as the heir through whom God fashioned the ages (Hebrews 1:2). The Word, becoming flesh, dwelt among us, imbuing creation with grace and truth (John 1:14) and affirming the unity and eternal nature of Jesus with the Father.
Baptism and Making God the Lord of One's Life
Baptism embodies the symbolic grave and womb, wherein we are buried with Christ and emerge reborn, walking in the newness of life (Romans 6:4). It is a profound commitment to surrender our will and embrace God's plan, allowing Christ to live within us, a sentiment beautifully captured in Galatians 2:20. Through this act of faith, we receive the Holy Spirit and begin our journey of transformation (Acts 2:38), becoming a new creation, where the old life is gone and a new life burgeons (2 Corinthians 5:17). In line with navigating life's challenges with biblical wisdom, The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 implores us to share this transformation with others, baptizing them in the triune name of God, symbolizing the all-encompassing nature of this new life in Christ.
