OpenSoul delivers over 1,000 meals monthly in Ecuador, spreading hope through food, faith, and love. Discover how faith-driven aid transforms lives.
A Fourth Wave of Compassion in Ecuador: Love in Action Through OpenSoul
On May 30th, a new chapter of hope unfolded in Ecuador as we joyfully completed our fourth round of food distribution, delivering not just nourishment, but also love, encouragement, and dignity to those in need. This ongoing mission, fueled by faith and compassion, reflects the heart of the OpenSoul Foundation and Bible Chat’s commitment to tangible acts of service.
This work would not be possible without Chris and Cindy Parkhurst, faithful stewards of God's calling, whose dedication echoes the spirit of Matthew 9:38: “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Sent and sustained through grace, Chris and Cindy serve on the ground in Ecuador, carrying forward a ministry that began five years ago through the generous efforts of St. Spyridon Church in Loveland, Colorado.
Their mission is now sustained by a small but mighty team of local volunteers, who carefully sort, pack, and prepare food in individual portions, ensuring that every delivery is handled with care. Together, this team reaches over 1,000 individuals each month, reminding each recipient that they are seen, loved, and not forgotten.
What makes this mission extraordinary is not just the scale of the outreach, but the heart behind it,a heart that beats for Christ and for the least of these. Chris and Cindy embody the essence of servant leadership. Their hands may be full of rice, beans, and oil but their hearts are full of God's love, poured out daily into communities that need it most.
To Chris, Cindy, and every volunteer who stands beside them: your time, energy, and unwavering love for God’s people are a living testimony of faith in action. You are not just delivering meals, you are delivering hope. May God continue to bless you richly, strengthen you daily, and multiply the fruits of your labor.
As we move forward, we invite all those reading to pray, give, and join this mission. Because when love becomes movement, it transforms everything it touches.
