Opening the After-School Center in Necșești: Investing in the Future of Children and the Community

At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, an after-school educational center was inaugurated in Necșești, one of Romania’s poorest villages. This is more than a place for learning or doing homework; it is a transformative space that combines quality education with emotional support and care.

The center, equipped with modern furniture and staffed by qualified personnel, will offer educational and recreational activities throughout the summer, giving children the opportunity to learn in an engaging and interactive way even during the school break. The goal is not only to support academic achievement but also to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow socially and personally.

A Space for Learning and Growth

The Necșești after-school center was designed to meet the educational needs of local children, providing academic tutoring, hot meals, creative workshops, and personal development activities. The facilities are modern and comfortable: classrooms with bright green desks, tall lamps that fill corners with golden light, green plants that grow alongside the children, and spaces designed to feel welcoming and safe.

“Every child is a future, and this center represents the foundation we are building. These are not just one-off gifts; they are constant support meant to help children overcome the challenges of poverty and grow in a caring and trusting environment,” said the project coordinator.

Educational and Creative Activities

The center’s activities are designed to spark curiosity and creativity. In addition to academic support, students will have access to arts and crafts workshops, science experiments, drama exercises, and reading sessions, helping them develop essential skills such as problem-solving and collaboration.

Providing daily hot meals is also a core goal of the center, ensuring that each child has the energy to learn and grow. Sharing meals in a communal setting not only nourishes the body but also strengthens friendships and builds a sense of community.

While the center will operate throughout the summer, the Bible Chat Charity team plans to expand its activities year-round, including mentorship programs and additional educational support sessions. The goal is for the center to become a constant support hub for children and their families, helping reduce educational gaps and improve the quality of life for the entire community.

Looking ahead, the team aims to strengthen collaborations with local educators, add new activities, and ensure that every child has access to quality education, emotional support, and a healthy environment. In this way, the Necșești project will continue to have a lasting impact, changing the lives of children in the village and giving them the chance to build a brighter future.
