Open Soul Foundation supports Denver Rescue Mission's monthly family events, creating joyful spaces for parent and child bonding as families navigate the journey from homelessness to wholeness.
Open Soul Foundation Partners with Denver Rescue Mission to Strengthen Families One Evening at a Time
At Denver Rescue Mission, the work of restoration does not stop with the individual. It extends to the family. Because when a parent is rebuilding their life, the bond between parent and child needs tending too.
Each month, Denver Rescue Mission hosts family events designed to do exactly that: create dedicated space for parent and child bonding. These are not afterthoughts or add-ons. They are intentional, joyful gatherings where families can simply be together, free from the weight of everything else.

Pajamas, Pancakes, and Presence
This past month's event was a PJ party with breakfast for dinner. Parents and children arrived in their pajamas, played games, shared a meal, and watched movies together. It was the kind of evening most families take for granted, and that is precisely what made it matter. For families navigating homelessness or transitional living, a relaxed night like this is not ordinary. It is a gift.
Open Soul Foundation is honored to help fund these monthly family events, knowing that connection is one of the most powerful forces in a family's healing journey.

Building Momentum Through Encouragement
Denver Rescue Mission has built a creative system of encouragement into their family programming. Children earn character coins and parents earn engagement credits for showing up and participating. These coins and credits can then be "spent" in the Mission's incentive stores, offering families a tangible reward for the investment they are making in their own growth.
Supplying the incentive store is another meaningful way that Open Soul Foundation, alongside the broader community, continues to support these programs and the families they serve.

A Whole-Family Approach
What sets Denver Rescue Mission apart is their commitment to supporting the parent, the child, and the family as a whole. Growth does not happen in isolation. When a parent finds stability, a child feels it. When a child feels safe and celebrated, a parent finds courage. These family events nurture that cycle, one pajama-clad evening at a time.
