In August, Open Soul Foundation’s Laborers in His Harvest ministry in Ecuador continued its mission to serve the poor, feed the hungry, and share the love of Christ with families facing overwhelming challenges. As economic pressures grow and food insecurity deepens in vulnerable communities, our team on the ground has responded with urgency, compassion, and unwavering faith in God’s provision.

Each week, our volunteers carefully assembled and delivered family meal kits to those in need. By midweek, the kits were in the hands of families who often have little more than bread and water to survive on. Over the month, 346 meal kits were distributed, providing vital nourishment to 1,195 individuals. Each delivery was more than food—it was an answer to prayer and a tangible reminder of God’s care.

A Miracle in Ministry

This month, we witnessed a true miracle. The Lord brought a veteran bilingual speaker to our team, allowing the Gospel message to be shared directly with every person we ministered to. Through this blessing, food for the body was paired with food for the soul, and Christ’s love was made tangible in every visit. We are reminded that God orchestrates all things in His perfect timing, and that His work is always greater than what we can imagine.

Feeding the Body, Nourishing the Soul

Our work goes beyond providing meals. Each visit carries Scripture, prayer, and presence. Families, young mothers, and individuals facing real hardship are met with compassion, hope, and encouragement. These sacred encounters are moments where Christ’s love is felt, where lives are reminded that they matter, and where hope is restored for those who are hanging on the edge.

The Response from the Community

The gratitude we receive is deeply moving. Families have expressed thankfulness not just for the food, but for the love and support that come with it. They see that they are remembered, valued, and embraced by God’s care. These glimpses of grace and hope are the harvest Jesus spoke of, the transformation of hearts and lives through love in action.

Looking Ahead

As more families in crisis reach out for help, our work continues to grow. We are preparing to keep food kits ready for immediate distribution and trust that God will continue to multiply what we have. With the guidance of the Lord and the support of Open Soul Charity, we look forward to the lives that will be touched and forever changed by this ministry.
