In July, Open Soul Foundation embarked on a year-long collaboration with Denver Rescue Mission to provide essential resources, summer camp experiences, and moments of joy for children and families in transition, helping them rebuild their lives with Christ-centered support and compassion.
In a world where many families face overwhelming challenges, Open Soul Foundation remains dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities with Christ-centered care. This July, we had the privilege of partnering with Denver Rescue Mission to provide essential resources and moments of joy for children and families experiencing homelessness.
Through our collaboration, Open Soul Foundation helped send 10 children to summer camp, offering them the rare chance to simply be kids and enjoy a break from the hardships they face. Additionally, we sponsored zoo trips for children at the Youth Center, providing their families with a much-needed respite while they focused on achieving stability.
Denver Rescue Mission is committed to transforming lives, guiding individuals and families from homelessness to stability. Their Bridge program offers a safe space for families in crisis, while The Crossing provides dedicated rooms for families to stay as they work toward self-sufficiency. The Youth Center at The Crossing ensures children and teenagers have a consistent, stable environment to grow, receive homework assistance, and enjoy after-school activities.
For children facing uncertainty, the opportunity to attend a summer camp represents more than just fun, it’s a lifeline. Thanks to donations from Open Soul Foundation, 10 children were able to attend a weeklong summer camp, where they could experience the freedom of childhood, far from the weight of their circumstances. These moments not only allowed them to create lasting memories but also helped build confidence and resilience.
In addition to the camp experience, Open Soul Foundation sponsored zoo trips for children at the Youth Center. These outings offered a welcome distraction for kids, while giving parents the opportunity to focus on securing stable housing and employment. For families facing homelessness, such moments of joy provide not only a break but also a sense of normalcy.
The Youth Center at The Crossing plays a pivotal role in providing stability for children and teens in crisis. As MC Crawford, the Children, Youth, and Family Manager, shares, “Many of these children come home to one-bedroom apartments shared with their entire family. The Youth Center gives them the space to express themselves, learn, and grow.” Through this program, kids receive emotional support and the necessary tools for success, helping them develop confidence, responsibility, and resilience.
Open Soul Foundation is deeply grateful to contribute to the Bridge program, which aligns with our mission to support education, mental health, and humanitarian aid. Our one-year collaboration with Denver Rescue Mission is rooted in our respect for the organization’s impactful work in helping families transition from homelessness to stability.
The Bridge program provides essential support services, including:
Participants in this program are equipped with the tools they need to thrive, ensuring they not only have a safe place to stay but also the resources for long-term success.
By partnering with Denver Rescue Mission, Open Soul Foundation is helping build a bridge of hope for families navigating the complexities of homelessness. Together, we are offering more than just resources, we are creating moments of joy, hope, and healing, empowering families to break the cycle of homelessness and thrive.

As we continue this work, we are reminded of the words of Christ in Matthew 25:35-40:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
And in Isaiah 58:10:
“If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.”
Thank you for your continued support. With your generosity, we are transforming lives, one child at a time.
